learning what drives people is the key to initiating meaningful change

who amy works with

Welcome to nontraditional therapy that deals with getting to core of the issues by focusing on solutions. Move away from victimhood, blaming, and argumentative behavior, into an empowered state of being.

Much of my work is with individuals and couples, helping them let go of the need for external validation and focus on the heart of who they are as a people. By identifying who they are gives them confidence to show up in the world and in their relationships.

  • Individual therapy helps you discover things about yourself: the why and how of what you do. This knowledge empowers you to walk confidently, allowing you to engage in life, rather than reacting to it.

  • Couples (ALL COUPLES) who may have lost that lovin’ feeling, whether through communication breakdown, busy lifestyles, or lack of intimacy can find benefit through couples’ therapy. I encourage the couple also have induvial sessions to order feel fully understood, as well as providing the big picture to help the couple resolve issues faster.

  • Trauma informed care allows a person to feel safe and protected as they move through traumatizing experiences. Once a relationship is developed with the client, I will use different techniques, like EMDR, TF-CBT, IFS, or EFT, to process stuck feelings that impact the client’s life.

amy’s adlerian approach

Amy lives life as an Adlerian Therapist/Philosopher. Individual psychology is goal-oriented and focuses on how an individual connects with others, achieves their goals, and contributes to society. When working in this model, you face your feelings of inferiority and learn how to overcome them, while finding your place in the world with confidence.

When couples have a stronger sense of self, they are able to come together with the confidence of wanting each other, not needing each other. When you have a feeling of wholeness, you can be more in the world, without feeling drained or depleted. You can accomplish, connect, and give without resentment, rejection, or regret.
